The internal workings of a Tornado
Tuner© 8040D.  The coils shown
here are fully compressed.  This
model has a shorting switch which
shorts out the coils when they are
fully compressed.  This allows for
40 meter operation.  There is no
adjustment on 40 meters.
Expanding the coils slightly
disengages the shorting switch
allowing operation on the lower
end of 80 meter band.  
Expanding the coils further, allows
full coverage of the 80/75 Meter
band.
